If you want an obsidian farm you will have set up an automatic piglin bartering contraption, which burns through a lot of gold. I think there is another way to farm it but you need to beat the ender dragon and it has complicated redstone

Jan 21, 2021 · maybe you could make it automated? if you use a dispenser with a empty bucket and power it into the cauldron then i think you get the lava bucket somewhere.... so if you the dispense that lava into the obsidian generating area and AFK while holding down rightclick with a diamond/netherite pick you could have a true AFKable obsidian generator .

Mar 9, 2021 · Unfortunately, there is no way to make an infinite obsidian generator, as obsidian requires a lava source block, and there is no way to infinitely create this, as it's game mechanics are different from those of water, and it can't flow infinitely. But, you can still create obsidian by simply pouring water over lava source blocks.

May 11, 2020 · I did the following temorarily when I needed a bunch of obsidian but can most likely be used as a permanent way as well: Simple lave generator setup as input to a Solidifier(2x2 sticks + lava = obsidian) Chest full of sticks input to the Solidifier. Then an item extraction to another chest to empty the Solidifier and keep the process going.
