I was very disappointed in the 2002 remaster of Dusty In Memphis. Way too much NR, like you lost all of your upper end hearing.

Jan 2, 2017 · No Dusty Springfield album can be called "audiophile", even when reissed by AP or the like. With that said, their "Dusty In Memphis" 2 x 45rpm LP set is the best that album has ever sounded. The 60's recordings were always tinny sounding, noisy, full of tape hiss and boomy. I'm surprised anyone is complaining about "noise reduction" to be honest.

Jul 17, 2010 · The connection was actually through John Paul Jones, who had played on her Dusty...Definitely LP (including her version of "Piece Of My Heart", which pre-dates Janis Joplin's version). He was also part of her backing band at her Talk Of The Town concerts earlier in 1968.

Jan 30, 2020 · Could someone suggest the best option for getting hold of Dusty Springfield's 60s singles in stereo. I have the decent sounding 'Complete A and B Sides 1963-1970' (2006) but unlike the ancient stereo 'Silver Collection' (1988), most of it is in mono.
