In 1815, “The Yacht Club” was formed in England; it later became the Royal Yacht Squadron. There is controversy about the first yacht club to be formed in the United States. The Detroit Boat Club was formed in 1839 but was actually a rowing club.

The Main Dining Room is where Members and their guests enjoy an extensive menu of old favorites and special offerings prepared by our chef. A wide selection of wines is available by the bottle or glass. The Dining Room is decorated with yacht club burgees from all over the world and plaques depicting the private signals of many Members.
