An AMBER alert has been issued for 13-year-old Sandra Mendoza out of Pueblo Wednesday night after officials said she was in a vehicle when it was stolen.

Pueblo police say a 13-year-old girl who was reported kidnapped Oct. 16 was never actually missing. The man who reported it now faces a felony charge.

Authorities in southern Colorado issued an Amber Alert late Wednesday after a 13-year-old girl was reported missing in the Pueblo area.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued an Amber Alert for a missing girl. CBI said Sandra Mendoza, 13, was last seen in Pueblo at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday. She was in a vehicle when an unknown man stole it from the 1200 block of South Prairie Avenue with her still inside.
