Verizon customers across the United States experienced widespread outages Monday, with users reporting an inability to make calls or use the internet.

Affected customers say their phones are in SOS mode. It comes as the carrier is also battling outages in the Southeast due to Hurricane Helene.

Verizon has confirmed that it experienced its second outage in one week Monday, leaving some of its wireless customers unable to complete calls made to landlines. "Some Verizon Wireless customers experienced a short service disruption when calling landlines this morning.
