The Southern Nevada Water Authority is petitioning Congress for permission to drill under Sloan Canyon south of Henderson.

Officials are also requesting to amend a conditional use permit for non-restricted gaming to include another 8.7 acres. Representatives at the meeting said the lot was approved for gaming since 2006.

A big project in Henderson’s Water Street District that stalled and went bankrupt is now poised to be completed this year.
