The Dallas Mavericks lost their third consecutive game on Wednesday night to the last-place team in the NBA’s Western Conference New Orleans Pelicans 119-116. The nature of the defeat is what drew attention, however.

It appears the Dallas Mavericks will not protest the results of Wednesday’s controversial loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

But on Wednesday night, it was his blocked shot in the final seconds that was the biggest play of the night. Murphy’s block of Spencer Dinwiddie’s layup attempt with four seconds left sealed the Pelicans' 119-116 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at the Smoothie King Center.

With four second remaining, Mavericks guard Spencer Dinwiddie attempted a layup that was blocked by Pelicans wing Trey Murphy. Dinwiddie’s layup clearly hit the backboard before
