Once completed, the Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) tower will rise over 1,000 metres and feature 157 floors, making it the tallest structure globally.

The agreement with Saudi Binladin Group was sealed by Jeddah Economic Company (a subsidiary of KHC) at key ceremony held today (October 2). On completion, the building is set to soar 1,000 m into the sky, beating the current record holder, 828-m-tall Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, thus making it the world’s tallest skyscraper.

Work has officially restarted on the world’s tallest building, the 1km-tall Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, with the aim of finishing it by the end of 2028.

Construction of the skyscraper began in 2013 and was scheduled to be completed by 2020. Once completed, the 1,000-metre tower will surpass Dubai’s Burj Khalifa by more than 500 feet.
