A clash erupted between Patna police and supporters of Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor, who was detained during his indefinite hunger strike at Gand

The police took him to Patna AIIMS for a medical examination, news agency PTI reported, citing supporters of Kishor.

Prashant Kishor, in solidarity with other protesting students, was sitting on hunger strike to press for the demand for cancellation of the integrated 70th combined (preliminary) competitive test conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13.

Kishor began his hunger strike on Thursday, accusing the government of failing to address irregularities in the examination conducted on December 13. Despite BPSC denying the allegations, the Commission announced a re-examination for 12,000 candidates, a move Kishor claims is an “admission of wrongdoing”.

Hundreds of candidates at Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre boycotted the test, alleging that the question paper was leaked.
