Missouri state Senator Nick Schroer introduced a bill to “amend chapter 10, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the official professional baseball team in Missouri.” This legislation would promote the St. Louis Cardinals and denigrate the Royals, who won two of three games last week at Busch Stadium.

The Missouri Senate has approved legislation incentivizing the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals to stay in their state, with the threat of the teams moving to Kansas looming. The bill needed 18 votes to pass and was approved 19-13.

Missouri senators authorized hundreds of millions of dollars worth of incentives to try to persuade the Chiefs and Royals to continue playing in the state.
