The Rockets gave the Grizzlies draft rights to Jahmai Mashack on draft night. However, the Rockets ended up sending that pick to the Warriors as part of a seven team trade, after lots of confusion, the Warriors finally followed through giving the Grizzlies Mashack's draft rights.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced that they acquired the draft rights to Tennessee guard Jahmai Mashack on Sunday, July 6. Mashack, 22, is the No. 59 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, from the Golden State Warriors.

Despite recent confusion, Jahmai Mashack is still joining the Memphis Grizzlies. His mother clarified the trade status on social media, confirming the move from Golden State is expected to become official soon.

The Utah Jazz are coming off one of the most anticipated matchups of the whole summer that saw VJ Edgecombe and Ace Bailey go at it in a battle of top-five draft picks. While Bailey didn’t have the most efficient game, the Jazz came away victorious 93-89, and now look ahead to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis agreed to trade Jay Huff to the Pacers and will sign Jock Landale, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on July 5. The move gives the Grizzlies a more traditional option at center, which will be important because starter Zach Edey is expected to miss the start of the season after undergoing offseason ankle surgery.
