Even as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to open an account in Haryana, it managed to register its first victory in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal congratulated Mehraj Malik for his victory in the Doda Assembly seat, marking AAP's first MLA in Jammu and Kashmir and its presence in five states. Malik won against BJP’s Gajay Singh Rana and celebrated with party leaders and workers.
