AFTRA actors' strike is set to continue, as the union behind the walkout warned of "alarming loopholes" allowing for "AI abuse" in the latest proposal to end the industrial action, suggesting a deal is still far from close.

Over seven months since declaring a strike against all video game companies signed to the Interactive Media Agreement, SAG-AFTRA video game performers braved the L.A. rain for their first picket of the year on Wednesday.

In an update on the progress of negotiations with video game developers on Tuesday, SAG-AFTRA says the two sides are still "frustratingly far apart," and so-called artificial intelligence is the culprit.
