Less than a year after hiring him, Michigan awarded coach Dusty May with a multi-year contract extension to stave off any chance that his alma mater might pursue him this offseason.
Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel announced Friday that men's basketball head coach Dusty May has agreed to a contract extension. The 48-year-old May has led Michigan to a 20-5 overall record in his first season after leading Florida Atlantic's program for six years.

Michigan has agreed to a contract extension with coach Dusty May, who has the Wolverines leading the Big Ten in his first season.
"This can't turn into 2 losses," Michigan basketball coach Dusty May said. "There's no time to hang our heads and mope and feel sorry for ourselves."
The University of Michigan signed Dusty May to a new contract, and Warde Manuel spoke on it after the loss to Michigan State.
"People are obviously very, very excited," Dusty May said Monday. We know what it means, but we also we have to focus on us playing good basketball."
"Oh, completely surprised," Camryn Vogler, Goldin's now fiancee, told the Free Press immediately after the big moment. "I had no idea."
