A 40-year-old canyoneer died after accidentally falling 150 to 200 feet while at the Zion National Park in Utah.

SPRINGDALE, Utah (AP) — A canyoneer died in Zion National Park after falling between 150 and 200 feet near the the Upper Emerald Pool in southwest Utah, according to the National Park Service.

SPRINGDALE, Utah — A Utah man died Saturday after a canyoneering accident at Zion National Park. Park officials said they received a call around 6 p.m., reporting that a 40-year-old man fell about 200 feet near the exit of Heaps Canyon. He was canyoneering with three other people, and officials said they were "following their permitted itinerary."
