Even before the Colorado QB dropped out of the first round and then the next two on Thursday and Friday of the 2025 NFL Draft, Kiper had Sanders higher on his big board than No. 1 pick Cam Ward. In his mock drafts, Sanders was a first-rounder.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. was "disgusted" after Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders wasn't selected on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL draft. "I really have nothing to say. I'm just disgusted. That's all I can say," Kiper said as the third round closed out on Friday.

Entering Thursday's first round, Mel Kiper listed Cowboys pick Tyler Booker smack in the middle of his top-50 prospect boards at that No. 25 spot. And Shedeur Sanders? Mel had him as a top-5 player.
