The Detroit Lions made a minor roster move ahead of their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, signing running back Jacob Saylors and waiving tight end Luke Deal with an injury designation. Deal, a blocking tight end out of Auburn, signed with the Lions as a tryout player out of rookie minicamp.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 199 pounds, Saylors is on the smaller side of an NFL running back, but his dual-threat attack as both a runner and receiver makes him an intriguing weapon at the next level. He shows promising vision and good lateral agility.
