Oklahoma Sooners HC Brent Venables let it all out and didn't hold back during a self assessment of his 2024 season originally appeared on A to Z Sports.

Venables proved just two years ago that he can clear 6.5 wins and do so by a wide margin. That was in the Big 12, though. Pulling the program out of the muck is far more challenging in the SEC than it would have been in the pre-conference realignment era.

Oklahoma's defense has gradually gotten better defensively in each season under Venables. In 2022 OU gave up 30 points per game. In 2023, they cut that number to 23.5 points per game. In 2024, they cut that number down again to 21.5 points per game.
