NVIDIA has become the first publicly traded company to reach a $4 trillion market cap, driven by soaring demand for its AI chips that power models like ChatGPT and Gemini.

Nvidia on Wednesday briefly hit $4 trillion in market value, making it the first publicly traded company to hit that milestone. Nvidia stock rose 2.76% after the market opened on Wednesday to hit an intraday record high that pushed its market value above the $4 trillion mark.

The accomplishment is even more impressive considering it has been just two years since Nvidia passed $1 trillion in market cap. Apple and Amazon reached $1 trillion in 2018 and Microsoft followed suit in 2019.
