Idaho plans to execute a 74-year-old man - the state’s long-serving death row prisoner - next month after officials botched his first execution.

These changes enhance the state’s ability to carry out an execution ... by ensuring we have the infrastructure in place to establish IV access,” said Josh Tewalt, director of the state prison system.

Idaho will now allow lethal injections to be administered via central venous lines in the groin, neck, chest, or arm.
