PORT HURON, MI – Police have identified the victim in a homicide that took place Tuesday morning on Vanness Street in Port Huron. Vincent Buckles was the 35-year-old man who police found with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Port Huron Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Port Huron police are investigating a fatal shooting and a vehicle fire that happened early Tuesday minutes apart and about two blocks apart, officials said. Officers were called at about 12:15 a.m. to the 3000 block of Vanness Street for a blaze, authorities said. They arrived and found a vehicle just off the roadway engulfed in flames.

Port Huron Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Young said there is no evidence to suggest there is a threat to the public after a recent fatal shooting. The department is continuing to investigate the death of a 35-year-old man in Port Huron who was found dead about 12:31 a.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of Vanness Street.
