Though George will play, Joel Embiid did not make the trip, per The Inquirer’s Keith Pompey. According to Nurse, Embiid is having “a scheduled assessment” on his surgically repaired knee. This was all part of Embiid’s ramp-up plan as the team eases him into action, per Nurse.

Paul George is set to make his Sixers debut Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bad news: It will not be televised locally.
