National protests are scheduled to take place all over the country, including more than 20 in Tennessee. The protests will take place on June 14, the same day as President Trump's birthday and the U.
Protesters are set to hit the streets across the country today.
The protests are part of a nationwide demonstration against President Donald Trump. The flagship “No Kings” march and rally are planned in Philadelphia, but no events are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., where amilitary parade will take place for Trump’s birthday.
Over 1000 people gathered at the Bicentennial Mall State Park June 14 for the No Kings protest, a nationwide movement with around 2000 events across the country. The event was lively and peaceful, with groups of musicians leading a number of chants and dance circles forming on the lawn.
There are at least 24 protests planned across the state of Tennessee, including several in Middle Tennessee from Clarksville to Pulaski to Murfreesboro and more. Organizers say they expect the largest rally to happen in Nashville.
A small group of about 20 demonstrators were located on the same side as the "No Kings" protesters, but in front of the library parking lot. One demonstrator said they were there to celebrate Flag Day and to support their country. Many pro-Trump signs were stuck in the ground in front of the sidewalk where the stood.
Several protests are shaping up in Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky on Saturday, the same day as President Donald's Trump birthday and his military parade.
