Hours after the New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh, the New England Patriots decided to switch starting quarterbacks. Jacoby Brissett heads to the bench after the team started 1-4 and third overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft Drake Maye from North Carolina will be the QB against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Brissett said during his weekly radio interview on Monday that he expected to start Sunday despite Coach Jerod Mayo not committing to him as he had in weeks prior. Mayo was critical of Brissett’s performance in the 15-10 loss to the Dolphins, telling reporters it “just wasn’t good enough.”
