The Phillies, who have been searching for relief pitching help throughout the season, have agreed to sign veteran reliever David Robertson, reports The Athletic. It's a deal for the rest of the season for $16 million, prorated for just the remainder of the Phillies' games, reports MLB.com, or roughly $6 million.

Philadelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has historically operated with a go-big-or-go-home mentality, so it's not a surprise the team is believed to be looking to make a big splash prior to the July 31 trade deadline.

Ideally, Robertson could help the Phillies in the later innings in August and September, then slot in the middle of the 'pen come October.
