The ship is said to be carrying around 800 EVs as part of a total haul of 3,000 vehicles, but now it's adrift, abandoned, and on fire.

The crew of the Morning Midas saw smoke first coming from a section of the ship containing electric vehicles, the company said.

No one was injured in the blaze on the car carrier, which was bringing about 3,000 vehicles, including 800 electric models, from China to Mexico.
