Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison admitted that he miscalculated the popularity of Luka Dončić among the team’s fanbase before the shocking trade with the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

On First Take, Smith said he'd been told that it was actually Harrison who went to Mavericks' ownership to convince them that trading Doncic was the right choice. It wasn't a deal that the team's owners were exactly calling for when it happened.

In his first two playoff games with the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Dončić has averaged 34 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The 26-year-old was an assist shy of a triple-double in the Lakers’ Game 2 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
