The Jets went 3-9 under Ulbrich and finished 5-12 overall. Ulbrich is very popular among the players and in the Jets’ building, but he is considered a long shot to keep the job.

Former head coach Robert Saleh was fired by the team all the way back in October. At the time, New York had a 2-3 record. After turning things over to interim Jeff Ulbrich, it didn’t go much better. The Jets finished the 2024 NFL season at 5-12.

On Oct. 8, after Jets owner Woody Johnson fired Robert Saleh following a 2-3 start, Ulbrich, who was the defensive coordinator, became the team’s interim coach. Johnson hoped Ulbrich would ignite a spark and lead Gang Green to the playoffs. However, Saleh’s firing had the opposite effect.
