With payments announced in December, the Internal Revenue Service said it expects them to arrive by late January “in most cases.” The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced last month that automatic payments are being sent to roughly one million taxpayers who did not claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax returns.

This month, the IRS will be sending out stimulus checks of up to $1,400 to around one million U.S. taxpayers. Find out here if you're eligible.

The exact amount of the payment will vary but maximum is $1,400 per individual. The total amount distributed by the IRS is $2.4 billion. You could still be eligible for a payment even if you don’t receive one this month.
