Fixit is selling a new VoltClip tool that lets iPhone 16 and 16 Plus users eject their device’s battery with ease.

Apple recommends removing the iPhone 16’s battery, which is held in place with a new electrically debondable adhesive, by using a 9V battery and some alligator clips. iFixit’s new USB-powered VoltClip is an alternative tool that eliminates the need for a disposable battery, while also potentially speeding up the debonding process.

Repair outfit iFixit has started to sell the VoltClip, a cable that can be used to electrically debond the battery adhesive in the iPhone 16.

If you’re planning to repair your own iPhone or if you work with repairs, the VoltClip from iFixit is now available to order for $10.95. It’s worth noting that it requires a USB-C PD power source (not inclued in the box) that supports 12V or 9V output.
