Huntsville Police say a second person has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on Meridian Street on Oct. 12.

Huntsville Police have arrested and charged a man with reckless murder in connection with a deadly shooting Saturday night, and more arrests are expected, according to the department. Jordan Latrell Smith, 21, of Huntsville, was booked into the Madison County Jail at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Huntsville Police Department said it has arrested a man after a shooting on Saturday that left one dead and another critically injured.

Chevron cashier Ramson Baker was behind the register Saturday night and recalls more than 200 people gathered in the parking lot of the gas station. He says a majority of the crowd had guns in their hands ranging from hand guns to assault rifles. Baker says so many shots were fired he lost count.

One person was killed, not two as Huntsville police originally reported, in a double shooting Saturday night, the department said Monday. Damien Obrien Manning, 22, was found with a gunshot wound at a gas station at 3310 Meridian St. around 10 p.m. Saturday, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities responded to a shooting that killed one person on Meridian Street Saturday night.
