The final beams raised into place were signed by members of the construction team at California Science Center.

It’ll still be several years until the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is ready for visitors, but the museum celebrated another major milestone with a “topping out.”

Some of the final steel beams have been placed atop the building where the California Science Center will display the Endeavour space shuttle.

Some unusual cargo was hauled through the streets of Los Angeles Wednesday as a pair of massive rocket motors made the last leg of their journey to Exposition Park, where they'll be part of the Space Shuttle Endeavour display.
