Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said that no action will be taken against Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) over allegations of bribery until "concrete proof" is established.

Over a month after allegations of bribery involving the Adani Group and the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration surfaced, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has clarified that no immediate action will be taken without substantial evidence.

Chandrbabu Naidu seems to have softened his position since late November. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, and an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), wants 'concrete proof' before cancelling the Adani contract and taking action against his predecessor Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSR Congress Party.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission claimed in November that the Adani Group bribed state officials during former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure.

Chandrababu Naidu has stated that the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) agreement to purchase power from the Adani Group benefits the state government, asserting that any action on bribery allegations against the conglomerate will be based on a meticulous review of available records.
