Mumbai Police, in cooperation with Madhya Pradesh police, are searching for suspected shooter Shivkumar Gautam in Ujjain and Khandwa. Three individuals connected to the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique have been arrested,

A team from Mumbai Police reached MP on Sunday, a day after Siddique was shot dead in the megapolis, to trace suspected shooter Shivkumar Gautam, who is on the run.

A local court sent Praveen Lonkar (28), fourth accused in the Baba Siddique murder case, to police custoday till 21 October. He is one of the conspirators who, along with his brother Shubham Lonkar, enlisted shooters Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam in the plot to kill the slain NCP leader.

The shooters told the cops they were given a contract to kill both Baba Siddique and Zeeshan, said police sources. Baba Siddique was provided non-categorised security and was allotted three police constables,

The Mumbai Police said on Sunday the accused had planned to use pepper spray first before firing shots at Siddique.

The accused told during interrogation that both Zeeshan and Baba Siddiqui were on the target and they were ordered to fire on anyone they found.
