Ballie, a little robotic smart home ball that made waves in previous shows, is becoming a real product.

You communicate with Ballie through voice, and at times, the robot also projects virtual buttons onto the floor that can be stepped on to make a selection. (I’m curious as to what its accessibility features might entail.) Samsung has also given Ballie plenty of power over the smart home; you can tell it to control your lights and various routines.

At its CES 2025 press conference, Samsung just announced that the Ballie home robot it first showed off last year will actually be available for sale this year. This cute yellow rolling device has a built-in projector that allows it to beam images and videos on your walls and floors,

Back then, the robot was "about the size of a hefty grapefruit but much less dense," according to Engadget, and its bright yellow exterior featured a scalloped texture that has since been left behind.

Samsung’s home robot Ballie has been kicking around the CES circuit for half a decade, but we now have a very rough timeline for its launch. Samsung confirmed Ballie is set to hit the market at some point in the next 12 months,

Now, during CES 2025, Samsung has confirmed that its home robot Ballie will finally hit stores sometime in H1 2025. Samsung originally showed Ballie at CES 2020, but it has yet to make it to the commercial market.
