Aer Lingus is assessing which European services it will have to cut or reduce next year from the capital in order to facilitate launches of new transatlantic routes while Dublin Airport operates under the constraints of a controversial passenger cap.

ST. LOUIS — Irish airline Aer Lingus on Monday said it would start a nonstop flight next year from Dublin to Indianapolis, the second time in the past month that St. Louis has been bypassed for a Dublin route on the carrier.

As of October 21, the latest information shows that the five operators will fly non-stop to a record 22 US airports from Dublin if winter/summer networks are combined. That's more than any other European airport except London Heathrow (31) and Frankfurt (29). Aer Lingus' latest route means Dubin has overtaken:

The Aer Lingus non-stop flight will connect Indiana and Europe year-round with service scheduled four times per week. Flights start at around $520 round trip.

Flight EI76 will depart from Nashville at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, arriving in Dublin the next morning at 8:50 a.m. The westbound flight, EI77, will leave Dublin at 2:05 p.m. and arrive in Nashville at 5:10, also on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
